Model Katie Price and her boyfriend Alex Reid have married in Las Vegas, a spokesman for the couple has said.

The pair tied the knot in a "private, simple" ceremony at 1600 local time (midnight GMT) on Tuesday.

Price, 31, and cage fighter Reid, 34, who won reality TV show Celebrity Big Brother last week, have been dating for about seven months.

They said in a statement: "We are very much in love and look forward to the future together."

'Down to love'

The couple added: "We can't wait to get back and celebrate our marriage with our friends and family who we know fully support our wishes."

Price - formerly known as the model Jordan - and Reid are due back in the UK later this week.

The couple's publicist said in a statement: "Their decision to marry has not been made with any pre-conceived commercial plan or media deal in place, and their reason for getting married is purely down to their love for each other."

Price used a magazine interview this week to reveal she had plans to marry Reid.

"This year I will marry Alex and I'm going to have his kids," she said.

Last year Price apologised on live TV for her behaviour since she split with her former husband Peter Andre.

Reality shows

During her exit interview on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, Price said: "For the last seven months I have acted like a right twit and I'm sorry if I upset people."

She also revealed that she had split from Reid, who had also flown to Australia where she show is made.

She said at the time: "It's best that I'm on my own. I don't want a relationship... I'm not with him, no."

Reid, who was booed on the launch night of Celebrity Big Brother, said after he won: "What an amazing, fantastic start to a new year."

When presenter Davina McCall asked him how he had turned the public's perception around, he said: "I'm speechless. My whole agenda in here was just to be myself. I know I'm a good guy."

Asked by McCall: "Who is Alex Reid", he said: "He's a man, he's passionate, he's going to win a fight in three months. I'm a fighter and I'm a man in love."
